EverTale ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy, especially regarding the children our storytelling app is made for. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the EverTale mobile application and website (collectively, the "Services").

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Account Information: When a parent creates an account, we collect an email address and a password (or, if you choose Google Sign-In, your Google account email).
  • Story Content: The story details your family creates — hero and character names and traits, chosen themes, story choices, optional details such as a child's age or real-life story context (for example, "first day of school"), and the resulting stories — are stored in your account so you can save and resume adventures.
  • Usage Counts: We keep simple counters (such as the number of stories started per day) to enforce fair-use limits. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising services.

We do not record audio. EverTale never requests microphone access. Narration is generated speech played to your device — nothing is captured from it.

2. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

We are dedicated to safeguarding children's privacy. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Accounts are created and managed by a parent or guardian, who confirms they are an adult during sign-up. Children do not create accounts or provide personal information directly to us. Story content is private to your account — there are no social features, no sharing, and no communication with other users.

3. How We Use Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide and improve the EverTale storytelling experience.
  • Generate and narrate each story chapter in real time, shaped by the choices your child taps.
  • Communicate with parents regarding updates, issues, or account management.
  • Ensure the security and safety of our users.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We never sell your personal data, and we never share it for advertising. We share information only with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf to run the Services: Google Firebase (authentication and secure cloud storage), OpenAI (generating story text), and ElevenLabs (converting story text to narration audio). Story content sent to these providers is used solely to create your stories and is not used to train their AI models under our API agreements with them.

5. Your Choices and Rights
